Large Parties

For weddings or special events including car and motorcycle club rallies, we have capacity for up to 90 people. Smaller parties (less than 20) are generally accommodated with ease during peak business hours such as Friday and Saturday night or holidays, whereas for larger parties, there may be some constraints when considering booking times. 

It is possible to close the restaurant to the public for several hours, such as for a wedding, though this would entail a room fee in addition to regular menu and service charges.

18% gratuity is added for service staff plus 7% sales tax for all food and beverage charges.

Sit Down Meal Formats

 

A sit down meal format is ideal for parties of 30 people or less. In order to ensure fluid service from the kitchen, we tend to reduce menu selections to a soup or salad or a few table platters, and choice of 5 entrees. Your cost would be approximately equal to the regular menu price less a 10% discount. Your menu cost will change depending on the choice of entrees you wish to include.

Children under the age of 10 typically choose from the our Kids Menu and are charged for food and beverage according to regular menu price.

Drinks from the bar are set at the regular menu price for parties of 30 and under. 18% Gratuity and 7% sales tax are always added to your sub total.

Car Club Party Format

The Ship has hosted car and motorcycle club rallies since we opened in 1985. We recognize that each has differing characteristics in terms of group social cohesion, arrival and departure timing, and number of guests. Some groups have staggered arrival and departure times for their members, and even a need for a time clock or administrative table. Some groups wish to arrive together, eat together, and depart together. Other groups arrive all at once but wish for individuals to pay separate tabs and leave as they wish.

We recognize that time is valuable on rally day. To facilitate your event at The Ship, we would urge you to consider the following:

Time and cost per person is minimized when the menu is limited in some way. For example, a choice of soup or salad, 5 entrees, and 1 dessert (if desired). Burgers are limited to 2 types of cheese and two cooking temperatures, med-rare or med-well.

Time is saved most with a buffet format that limits the amount of server interaction per person. Time is saved most when there is a single bill bill for the group rather than separate bills for each member of the group.

We can help select a limited menu that might best work for your group in terms of taste, variety, and price if you wish to have sit-down table. For groups of 25 or less, a limited format works well.

Sample Buffet Format

Buffet format for 20-60 people with designated sit down dining adjacent to the bar.

Food will be laid out in a buffet and replenished as needed for $15.95 per person for two hours.

Hot and cold menu items for the buffet will suit vegetarian and non-vegetarian tastes.

  • A pasta dish
  • Scotch Egg / Sausage Roll
  • Ribbon Fries
  • Shepherd’s Pie
  • A broiled fish dish

Home-made dessert and locally roasted coffee in the second hour add $2.50 per person.

Beverages can be handled in a variety of ways:

  • Open bar: $5.50 per person per hour including house beer, wine, well spirits and non-alcoholic beverages (juice, soda, coffee, iced tea)
  • $5.95 per person per hour to include non-alcoholic beverages, house beer, wine, well and top shelf spirits (include Absolut, Tanqueray or Grey Goose for example)
  • Cash bar per purchase: $5.50 for house beer, wine, and well liquor. $2.75 for non-alcoholic beverages
  • An open beverage tab with an optional dollar limit on it.
