January is Scotland month at the Ship Inn...and what better way to kick it off than by joining us Thursday January 7th and/or 14th as we pair 5 incredible single malt scotches with 5 incredible modern Scottish courses...plus a welcome dram to get you started!
Our Whiskey Expert, Janet Brennan, will guide us through a tour of Scotland as we explore whisky from each region of Scotland plus a bonus pour from the Master blenders at Compass Box...one of the most exciting new whisky projects in Scotland. And executive chef Brian will pair each whisky with 5 incredible courses.
Welcome Dram - Glenfarclas 12 - Speyside
1st Course - Glengoyne 12 - Highland Distilled/Lowland Aged Seared Scallops - With chili oil and toasted coconut over parsnip puree
2nd Course - Kilkerren 12 - Campeltown Roquefort Cheese Fondue - With crostini and dried fruit compote
3rd Course - Jura 10 - Island of Jura Smoky Pork Belly - With arugula and prickly pear syrup
4th Course - Caol Ila - Islay Venison Chop - With haggis, buttermilk mash, grilled kale, apple cider demiglace
5th Course - Compass Box Spice Tree Orange Ginger Crème Brulee
Designated drivers or friends who would like to attend but don't drink whisky are welcome to join in the fun and enjoy the food side of the event. (We're also happy to cater a menu for vegetarian guests....just give us a heads up ahead of time)
The event will be $70 for an incredible Single Malt experience. Be sure to reserve your seat soon for a truly memorable evening! Due to covid restrictions, seating is incredibly limited so be sure to reserve your seats early.
PS...We definitely encourage the wearing of kilts for this event! And special bonus...we were able to get our hands on a couple bottles of the new Ardbeg Wee Beastie...We will make these available exclusively for these events if you'd like to add a Smokey Monster from Islay!
